Shimla this time! 🧳

It was August 15th, 2019. Yeah, it's the Independence Day of India 🇮🇳. And I was spending some peaceful time alone in my small-sized room. All of sudden my phone ringed and there was a call from one of my ex-colleagues. It had a long time since we talk. And my insecurities were confusing me to decide whether to pick his call or not.

I was unsure about his purpose of calling, that too in the evening of a holiday. I was like I won't pick the call but at the same time, I wanted to explore other possibilities. While my focus was on watching the incoming call's animation, a debate was taking place inside me. Both the parties, my heart and brain, were giving each other reasons to attend/skip that call. So I was unable to bring any conclusion. Then a memory came up. The memory was about the previous year. When he arranged a small get-together for our group, which consists of my squad, on Independence Day. And this reminds me of all the amazing times which I had with them during office days. Indeed, they were the only remaining friends which I had at that time. So without thinking twice, I picked his call.

Surprisingly, I found my whole squad there on that call. It was a conference call and I was the second last to join it. Initially, it was a bit uncomfortable for me but with time my insecurity fades away and I again became comfortable with them. Then someone asked to make a reunion plan. And being the second re-union we wanted it to be a bit different. Well, I remember, we started with some cafes and my suggestion was to go for a Harry Potter themed cafe at Canaugt Palace, Delhi. Ok, they overruled it. Then, in a while, we explored many possibilities including one day trip to Agra. But from nowhere Shimla was the winner.
That evening, I understand how can our small choices affect many big things. And by attending his call, I opened doors of opportunity. Indeed that was my first trip to Shimla, but also I found a group with whom I went to Kasol, Lansdowne, and many other places. I always wanted to be a part of such a group, and there it is a new reality for me. Isn't it perfect?
